FOSIS Wales is a voluntary organisation dedicated to supporting, uniting and representing university Islamic Societies in Wales. We support our Islamic Societies through a variety of projects including training for ISoc committee members, providing speakers for ISocs and delivering resources such as Fresher Packs and dawah literature. We also advise ISocs on any problems they may have and celebrate the acheivements of Islamic Societies in Wales.

Our aims and objectives for 2009/2010 are outlined below...

Aims

• To unite Welsh ISocs
• To support and advise Welsh ISocs
• To provide resources, events and training for Welsh ISocs
• To represent Welsh ISocs
• To educate Welsh ISocs about FOSIS and FOSIS Wales
• To encourage/maintain Welsh ISoc involvement with Student Unions and the NUS

Objectives

• To carry out three regional meetings
• To carry out at least two inter-ISoc events
• To provide two regional speaker tours for ISocs
• To establish a long-term, sustainable source of funding for ISocs
• To provide all ISocs with the training sessions and materials they request
• To increase the media awareness of Welsh ISocs
• To send at least one Welsh ISoc delegate to the NUS Conference
• To establish a basis for Muslim chaplaincy in ISocs
• To initiate a programme for twinning ISocs for their mutual benefit
